A8 slip road for the Wendlingen junction

Road pavement renewal and reconstruction

Customer: Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, Dienstsitz Göppingen
Construction time: 5 months
Construction year: 2011

Facts and figures:
- Renewal of the entire road pavement surface of the main roadway including entry and exit lanes,
  45,000 m²
- Renovation of the existing concrete roadway of 34,000 m²
- Production of the surface drainage with sewerage construction and 1,000 m drainage channel
- Renovation of three bridge constructions on the main roadway of federal motorway A 8
- Implementation of construction work in two primary construction phases as well as additional
  construction phases on the weekend in two-shift operation.

BAB A 6 Walldorf-Weinsberg, Alteration of Weinsberger Kreuz

Alteration of an interchange in 13 different phases

Customer: Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, Dienstsitz Heilbronn
Construction time: June 2006 - August 2009

Facts and figures:
- 6-lane expansion, section construction and structural engineering
- Improvement of traffic flow by adding one lane in each direction
- Improving safety for road users by creating a continuous hard shoulder
- Minimisation of noise levels through noise reduction measures over the entire section
- Reconstruction and renovation of 8 bridges
- Execution of the measures in 13 different phases

 

 

 

Expansion of the A 8, Karlsruhe - München, Gruibingen - Mühlhausen

Initial lot for widening to 6 lanes

Customer: Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart
Construction time: 17 months
Construction year: April 2009 – August 2010

Facts and figures:
- 120,000 cubic metres of soil removed
- Combined frost protection course, 18,000 cubic metres
- 34,000 square metres of asphalt base
- Asphalt base, 35,000 square metres
- Duct creation by pipe jacking along and across the autobahn, 780 m

 

 

 

BAB A 5 between Zeppelinheim junction – Darmstadt interchange

Hessen's busiest autobahn section

Customer: Amt für Strassen- u. Verkehrswesen, Darmstadt
Construction time: 14 months
Construction year: 2010 - 2011

Facts and figures:
Overall length of 15 km, 4 lanes plus hard shoulder, both directions, complete reconstruction, 500,000 square metres of concrete and asphalt demolition, 500,000 square metres of surface, 30,000 m of concrete barrier, 20,000 m of safety barriers and 250,000 cubic metres for the base of a noise barrier.

 

 

 

BAB A 6 Walldorf-Weinsberg, AS Sinsh.-Steinsfurt - AS Bad Rappenau

Complete reconstruction over a 9 km section

Customer: Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart, Dienstsitz Heilbronn
Construction time: 22 months
Construction year: 2010 - 2011

Facts and figures:
- 6-lane expansion between Sinsheim-Steinsfurt and Bad Rappenau (plus a hard shoulder, including earthworks, drainage and road surfacing)
- Construction of 3 bridges
- Widening of existing bridge structures
- Development and decommissioning of two rest areas
- Construction of two noise barriers, each of approximately 1 km in length

 

 

 

BAB A 8 Wurmberg – Heimsheim (in a consortium)

Modernisation lot on the A 8 autobahn

Customer: Regierungspräsidium Karlsruhe
Construction time: 23 months
Construction year: 2009 – 2011

Facts and figures:
Wimsheim - AS Heimsheim section

- Widening of the 4.8 km section to 6 lanes plus hard shoulders, including earthworks, drainage and road surfacing
- Construction of 3 underpass structures (K 4565, L 1175, GVS)
- Construction of an overpass structure (L 1180, execution of south abutment with a schedule that was optimised by using the shifting process)
- Creation of a "reinforced earth" noise barrier construction, 1 km
- Creation of retaining structures and other structures (gabion walls with shotcrete anchoring
- Construction of a storm water retention and clarifier basin
- Duct construction work in local grids (water, drainage, etc.)

East-west link upgraded to 6 lanes
