Assisted living and nursing in a demanding environment
Customer: Münchenstift GmbH
Münchenstift GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the State Capital of München and is responsible for the 14 senior citizens' and nursing homes that were formerly administered by the city, which are spread out over the entire urban area and have up to 400 occupants on each site.
Construction time: April 2010 - December 2011
The new "Effnerstrasse" nursing home is being constructed on the site of a former old people's home.
The planning concept foresees "four houses" brought together by a brace. The building complex comprises three courts, which are practical for service provision on one side and framed by greenery on the other.
The interior is functionally divided pursuant to the concept of care in residential groups of 11 to 14 residents. Each group consists of up to 12 nursing rooms with a shared kitchen and nursing area, group rooms and functional spaces. This creates the character of a residential community. The nursing home is designed for up to 225 residents.
The building is being constructed with a reinforced concrete skeleton construction consisting of ceilings, supports and load bearing walls. The dividing walls will consist of a gypsum board post and beam construction. The suspended ceilings are partly used to cover installations and partly as an acoustic measure.
The façades are equipped with a thermal insulation composite system and designed in accordance with the "four houses" concept. Winter gardens on the west side and the use of various sun shading equipment as well as the colour scheme give depth to the building façades.
Our services include the project planning including statics and building services.
