The project SuedLink Vorhaben 3 is the direct current connection between the stations Brunsbüttel in the North of Germany and Großgartach in the South. In order to integrate direct current lines like SuedLink into the existing alternating current network, convertors are required at the beginning and end points. These convert alternating current to direct current and vice versa.
The measure includes the preparation of the building site equipment areas and the preparatory earthworks in connection with the new construction of the future convertor substation Großgartach on a total surface of 70,000 m²: approx. 31,000 m² formation, 52,000 m² removal of surface soil, 13,000 m² earthworks, construction site lighting, construction roads, building site equipment areas, work areas, supply and waste disposal lines of the building site equipment.

Heidelberg Materials AG planned the construction of a railway wagon and truck loading station for brick and bypass dust at the cement plant Schelklingen. The foundation for a brick conveyor bridge was built in connection with this project, a railway wagon and truck loading station for brick was newly constructed, the existing industrial track connection was expanded, and a switch point was relocated. In addition to that, new drainpipes, empty conduits, and access points for the new infrastructure were produced.
